Why do this tour?
The Vallée Blanche is often perceived as “accessible,” but it is still serious glaciated terrain. This experience is about doing it right: moving efficiently and safely on a glacier, understanding objective hazards, and enjoying one of the most iconic alpine descents in the world under professional guidance. It’s a foundational big-mountain skiing experience, not just a checklist run.

The most iconic off-piste descent in the Alps. Starting at 3,842 m from the Aiguille du Midi, this classic route takes you through the heart of the Mont Blanc massif.
Far from a marked ski run, it is a true high-mountain environment: crevassed terrain, shifting seracs, complex route options, and constantly evolving glacier conditions.
After a secured ridge descent from the cable car station, the route opens into vast glacial landscapes, linking the Géant and Tacul glaciers before flowing into the Mer de Glace. The experience combines technical awareness, rope management when required, terrain reading, and long, varied descents in one continuous alpine journey of approximately 20 km.
While often described as “accessible,” the Vallée Blanche remains serious mountain terrain. With a UIAGM / IFMGA certified mountain guide, the focus is on correct pacing, informed decision-making, and moving efficiently through objective hazards. More than a classic descent, it is an essential big-mountain experience — a gateway to understanding glaciated skiing in the high Alps.
