FAQs

What level of experience is required?

Each expedition has different technical and physical requirements. Some trips are suitable for strong hikers or skiers with basic alpine experience, while others require previous mountaineering or ski touring skills. Please check the trip page or contact us if you are unsure.

Are your guides certified?

Yes. All expeditions are led by UIAGM / IFMGA certified mountain guides, the highest international qualification for professional mountain guiding.

How many participants are in each group?

We operate small groups to maintain safety, efficiency and a high-quality experience. Typical group sizes range from 1 to 4 participants per guide, depending on the terrain and objective.

What equipment do I need?

A detailed equipment list will be provided after booking. Personal technical gear (boots, harness, crampons, etc.) is usually required, while some specialized equipment can be arranged or rented locally depending on the expedition.

Do I need travel or rescue insurance?

Yes. Participants must have personal travel insurance that includes mountain rescue and medical coverage. For some expeditions we strongly recommend specialized services such as Global Rescue.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Mountain conditions change quickly. Guides may adjust the itinerary, change objectives, or delay summit attempts to ensure safety. Weather buffer days are included in many of our expeditions.

What is included in the expedition price?

In general, the price includes UIAGM guide services, logistics planning, and accommodations specified in the itinerary. Items such as personal equipment, flights, insurance, and some meals are typically not included unless specified.

Can private expeditions be arranged?

Yes. Many of our programs can be organized as private trips for individuals, friends, or teams. This allows for flexible dates, custom objectives and tailored logistics.

What happens if I need to cancel?

Our Payment, Refund & Cancellation Policy applies to all bookings. Please review the policy page for detailed conditions regarding deposits, cancellations and refunds.

How far in advance should I book?

For popular objectives such as Mont Blanc or ski expeditions in the Andes, we recommend booking several months in advance, as guide availability and mountain huts can fill up quickly.
